I’ll be honest: I didn’t realize that websites this big still ran with the GIF format in the current year – it’s incredibly outdated and so restrictive. Why they haven’t made the switch to MP4/WebM is beyond me, but I’m going to hold it against them. This might have passed as a good file format and website two decades ago, but I just don’t see how it can rival the other sites in its genre. Sure, it does have a lot of smoking content and it’s on brand, but the clips are just a few seconds long – that’s it. For me, I don’t like the lack of innovation here – especially since they’ve had so long to switch away from GIFs.
