Cut Scenes: Mr. Porn Geek’s review

Okay folks: bit of an English discussion here before we talk about porn. The website I’m looking at today is CutScenes.net – while there’s a word used to describe video-game movie snippets that is often described as a cutscene, what we’re looking at on this website is something completely different. Instead of being gaming related, it’s focused on small segments (cuts) of movies that you might find sexy, erotic or otherwise stimulating in the genital region. That’s why I’m going to refer to it as Cut Scenes instead of Cutscenes – make sense? Good. Now let’s dive right in and talk shop about CutScenes.net and what it brings to the table if you’re looking for celebrity XXX entertainment.

Cut Scenes: homepage look

As with all good reviews I do on video-dominated websites, I’ll be first approaching Cut Scenes from the homepage. One thing I like about tubes is that they waste absolutely no time when it comes to the goods: you’ve got a full content block here devoted entirely to showing you videos that are currently being watched on the platform. These are represented in quite small preview panes which consist of a thumbnail, title, video length, scene rating, view count and finally, the date it was uploaded. My only ‘issue’ here is that the clips are displayed 6 at a time – I’d much prefer if this was brought down to 5 or 4 just so we could get a better look at the thumbnails.

Scrolling down to the bottom of the homepage, you’ll find that there are absolutely no other content blocks here – a little disappointing! Mr. Porn Geek would like to see a mini section devoted to the latest uploads at the very least, although one with a ratings function would also be pretty useful. What you do have instead is an area with the most popular tags, although these function basically in the same way that categories would on a standard adult website. There’s also the ability for you to click on the show all tags button for a full look at the available niches if you’d prefer. I guess I can actually go ahead and talk about that next!

Tags and categories on Cut Scenes

As I mentioned in the preview paragraph, the homepage at Cut Scenes has some tags that you can look at, as well as the ability to see all of them on the website. Word of warning: there are hundreds, if not thousands of tags at Cut Scenes – that’s a hell of a lot if you ask me! I’m also somewhat confused, since there is a categories section, but these are film categories as opposed to standard genre classifications. What I mean by this is that instead of having, say, Asian and MILF collections, you’ve instead got things like Hippie Movies, Spaghetti Westerns and that type of thing. It seems pretty clear to me that Cut Scenes isn’t your standard celebrity porn clip spot: they’re much more focused on real film from throughout the ages. Slightly unique to be honest – I’m not sure how good it’ll be, though! Especially since I’m not much of a movie buff.

What I don’t like about Cut Scenes

I’ll go ahead here quickly and talk about some of the less positive things with regard to Cut Scenes. For starters, I’m not hugely into the whole design and layout of this place. It’s okay, but yeah – just a little dated. Perhaps it was designed in 2010 or something and they didn’t update. I also think the tags and categories thing could be sorted out: I want a few specific niches to click through in one easy to find location! Finally, videos can’t be downloaded with an easy to find button. You can do it via inspect element hacking, but that’s not ideal.

My final thoughts on Cut Scenes

Alright gang – I’ve said pretty much everything I want to say on this particular website and yeah, it fulfills a niche that might otherwise go unfulfilled, which is a good thing. I’m not going to pretend for a second that Cut Scenes is a good objective spot for material though – most people just looking for celebrity porn clips better look elsewhere. These guys specialize in older movies and prefer the whole film buff approach to things: that’s fine, but not for everyone.
