William

Writer at MrPornGeek

William’s been writing about the adult industry longer than most people have been browsing it. 20+ years of experience and he’s been with MrPornGeek since day one back in 2016 when the site first launched. If you’ve read a review or an article on the blog, there’s a solid chance he wrote it.

Role at MrPornGeek

William is the lead content writer. He’s responsible for pretty much everything written on the site – reviews, guides, category descriptions, editorial content, the lot. He sets the tone for how MrPornGeek sounds as a brand and makes sure everything we publish is accurate, useful, and doesn’t read like it was scraped off some other site. He also works with the editorial team to plan what gets written and when, keeping the content pipeline moving so the site always has fresh stuff going up. Being here from the start means he knows the platform inside out – every section, every page type, every quirk of how we do things.

Professional experience

  • Lead Content Writer - MrPornGeek - 2016 – Present

Been here since launch. Writes and oversees all editorial content across the platform. Sets the writing standards, maintains the brand voice, and makes sure every piece of content is factually accurate and properly researched before it goes live. Also trains and guides other writers when they come on board.

  • Senior Adult Content Writer - Various Platforms - 2011 – 2016

Five years writing for other adult platforms before MrPornGeek existed. Built up a deep understanding of the industry, learned what kind of content actually performs, and got very good at writing stuff that ranks without reading like SEO spam. That experience is basically why he was brought on to lead content here from the beginning.

  • Content Writer - Adult & Entertainment Industry - 2008 – 2011

Where it all started. Freelance and contract work writing for adult sites and entertainment platforms. Learned the fundamentals — how to research properly, how to write for the web, how to cover sensitive topics without being weird about it. Not many writers stick around in this niche for 20 years but William clearly found his lane early on.

Role at MrPornGeek

  • Writes long-form reviews and editorial pieces
  • Over 20 years deep in the adult industry
  • Built the brand voice from scratch
  • Plans what gets written and when
  • Knows how to write for massive sites
  • Researches hundreds of niches properly
  • Makes complicated stuff easy to read
  • Shows new writers the ropes
  • Goes back and updates old content regularly

Writing approach

William writes the way people actually want to read – straight to the point, no waffle, no filler paragraphs just to hit a word count. Everything he publishes is researched properly and written from scratch. He doesn’t rehash what’s already out there or scrape info from competitors. If a review goes up on MrPornGeek it’s because he’s actually looked into whatever he’s writing about. He’s also big on keeping things consistent – same tone, same standards, same level of detail across every piece of content on the site. That matters when you’ve got thousands of pages.

Ongoing work & freshness

Content doesn’t stay fresh forever. Things change – sites update, platforms shut down, new ones pop up. William goes back through older content regularly to make sure nothing’s out of date or misleading. New content goes up constantly too, so he’s always writing something. He also keeps an eye on what’s performing and what isn’t, which feeds into what gets written next. The goal is making sure every page on the site is worth landing on, not just filler taking up space.

Tools & workflow

He works with a mix of content management tools, keyword research platforms, and editorial workflows to keep everything organised. Content goes through a proper review process before it gets published – no rough drafts going live. He coordinates with the rest of the team to make sure what he’s writing lines up with any design changes, new features, or site updates that are happening at the same time.

Contributions to MrPornGeek

  • Written the majority of content on the platform since launch
  • Established the brand voice and writing standards
  • Built out the editorial workflow from scratch
  • Keeps thousands of pages accurate and up to date
  • Trained and guided every writer who's joined the team

Background & experience

William’s been in the adult content space for over 20 years. Before MrPornGeek he worked across a range of platforms – some big, some small, all of them requiring a writer who could handle the subject matter professionally without being awkward about it. He’s seen the industry change massively over that time and understands how to write content that works now, not five years ago. That kind of experience doesn’t come from a course or a textbook – it comes from doing the job for a very long time.
