Steve
Writer at MrPornGeek
Steve’s been with MrPornGeek for four years. He handles a mix of writing and content upkeep across the platform – reviews, blog posts, metadata, legal pages, and a lot of the behind the scenes stuff that keeps thousands of pages in good shape. The kind of work that nobody notices until it stops getting done.
Role at MrPornGeek
Steve covers a broad range of content work at MrPornGeek. He writes reviews and blog posts but he also does a lot of the less visible stuff — updating old pages, checking links still work, writing meta titles and descriptions, formatting content in the CMS, keeping things accurate across the site. He’s also the go-to person for legal content. Privacy policies, terms pages, compliance updates, disclaimers – that kind of thing needs someone who can write it clearly and get the detail right, and Steve handles all of it. After four years here he knows the site well enough to spot when something’s gone stale or needs fixing without being told.

Freelance Copywriter - Various Adult Platforms - 2019 - 2022
Did the freelance thing for three years before joining us. Wrote for all sorts — blogs, affiliate sites, review platforms. Some of it was good, some of it was boring, all of it paid the bills. Biggest thing he took from it was learning how to match someone else's brand voice quickly and deliver on time without the quality slipping. You either learn that fast as a freelancer or you stop getting booked.
-
Freelance Copywriter - Digital Marketing Agencies - 2017 - 2019
His first proper job. Spent two years in agency land writing website copy, landing pages, and bits of marketing material for clients. Nothing groundbreaking but it's where he figured out how SEO copywriting works, how to write for different audiences, and how to take a round of brutal client feedback without sulking about it. Solid start.

Writing approach
Steve doesn’t just write and move on. He pays attention to the boring stuff too – is the metadata right, are the links working, does the formatting look proper in the CMS, is the legal wording actually correct. He’s thorough. When he writes a review it’s researched properly and written from scratch, not rehashed from whatever’s already out there. And when it comes to legal pages he takes his time to get the detail right because that stuff actually matters. He’s not flashy about it but the work he does keeps a big chunk of the site running smoothly.
Ongoing work & freshness
With thousands of pages on the site, stuff goes out of date all the time. Steve’s the one going back through older content, flagging what needs updating, fixing broken links, refreshing reviews that have gone stale. He writes new stuff too – reviews and blog posts go up regularly – but a big part of his value is the maintenance work. He spots things that need attention and gets on with it rather than waiting for someone to hand him a task.
Tools & workflow
He lives in the CMS most of the day. Does his own keyword research, keeps his tasks organised, and doesn’t need anyone chasing him for deadlines. Everything he writes goes through the same review process as everyone else’s – nothing gets published without a proper check first. He talks to the rest of the content team when he needs to but mostly he just cracks on with it.
