I was a little confused about what random sexiness was going to be when I first knew it was a place on Reddit to post and share content. You’ve got to be careful with places like this – it could very well be a place for people to share literal randomness that results in something aesthetically pleasing or interesting (Brownian motion stuff), but the reality is a lot more … sexy! Yup, turns out that /r/RandomSexiness is just about hot girls that aren’t nude and from what I can tell, they’ve also got to be ‘amateur’ (posts of girls with over 20,000 Instagram followers are removed). I still have many questions to ask, so let’s venture on over to /r/RandomSexiness and see if we can get answers!

The numbers crunched at Random Sexiness

I was really surprised at the age of this NSFW Reddit community: /r/RandomSexiness was created back in May of 2011, making it over 8 years old at the time of writing this review. Since its inception, over 240,000 people have decided to follow this community. Based on my calculations, that makes it just outside of the top 100 places on Reddit for NSFW material – not a bad claim to fame. You do have to pay attention to one major thing here though: the update rate isn’t exactly stellar. If we sort posts by new, you’ll likely see that around 15 posts have been added in the last 24 hours. Given the ease and non-niche nature of the content here, I think this is just a little bit too low for my liking. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s hardly the best thing since sliced bread.

Checking out the top posts at /r/RandomSexiness

To put the content to the test, it’s probably best to look at the top submissions of the last year to see what people share and more importantly, what the folks who follow /r/RandomSexiness enjoy the most. Literally all of the top 25 posts here were to either Imgur or Reddit’s own server for photographs: no clips, but I guess that’s something I’ve got to expect these days! Too bad. My conclusion on Random Sexiness

The overall niche and appeal of Random Sexiness is a bit strange: I don’t think the subreddit title really captures what content is shared here. It reminds me a bit of places like /r/JizzedToThis: lots of amateur submissions of girls that likely shared the photographs on Snapchat or another social media platform. I don’t mind it, I just think that with a slow rate of fresh links, other subreddits have it beat in its chosen niche.
