Mr. Porn Geek visits /r/Ginger

When I was putting together a list of places to review for Mr. Porn Geek, I noticed that there were two pretty big places devoted to this type of content: /r/redheads and /r/ginger. I’m not sure if the competition between the two places is all that big or whether, but I’m sure they have a healthy rivalry that just makes the enjoyment of porn on Reddit that much better as a result. First thoughts on /r/Ginger

Okay, so I do want to just take a little bit of an analytical approach to the subreddit here: /r/Ginger was created way back in April of 2009, making it one of the oldest NSFW communities that still has a presence on Reddit. They have 316,905 subscribers at the exact moment I wrote this sentence, whereas /r/Redheads has 316,936. That’s right – the redhead spot has just 31 more subscribers, which is 0.01% more! If we go ahead and look at the new tab on /r/Ginger, you’ll see that it’s quite docile with 15 posts on a daily basis. I tend to think communities of this size need at least one hourly submission, but I’ll try not to cry over what Ginger is currently fronting.

Content talk for Ginger

Although I figured that /r/Ginger and /r/Redheads were basically the same, /r/Ginger is devoted entirely to naturally redheaded women, as opposed to those who’ve had their hair colored. I do think that /r/Redheads allows both (instead of being entirely non-natural), but yeah – that’s the focus of this community. You’ll find that /r/Ginger also allows hardcore content, which the other similar subreddit doesn’t allow. There are quite a few user submissions here and around 15% of links are to GFYCat – so you’ve got clips as well as flat photography! I do recommend you look at the top rated post of all time, which is this ginger duo having some amateur lesbian fun in front of their webcam. All in all, Mr. Porn Geek enjoyed the media that /r/Ginger offered.

/r/Ginger: my professional verdict

I don’t know how many of you are die-hard loyalists to the whole artificial/genuine ginger argument, but I will just say that I think this is the best subreddit around if you enjoy chicks that have red on their head. The ability to post hardcore content is great and it seems that /r/Ginger has a few regular OC posters too – can’t go wrong with a little amateur ginger goodness!
