Many years ago, ‘The Gap’ as a niche was a pretty big deal. I think I remember a Facebook page that was particularly popular and devoted to this – nowadays, I’m not quite sure that there’s still the same enthusiasm for it. For those who are confused, the concept of the gap is a simple one: chicks that have a space between their legs, right below where their pussy is, that you can see through. This suggests that the girl in question is quite skinny and takes care of herself physically – lots of dudes love that. First thoughts on /r/DatGap

I’m going to begin my review here with a little objective analysis, so let’s start off by talking about the metrics I’d consider useful when looking at DatGap. For a start, we’ve got the creation date: this subreddit was summoned into existence by [deleted] back in January of 2012 – that’s quite some time ago, but around average for a NSFW subreddit of this size. Speaking of sizes, DatGap currently has 220,000 followers – putting it in the top 150 NSFW communities if we compare them based on the number of subscribers that they have. One of the biggest metrics to determine how good a subreddit is comes via looking at the submission rates of new posts. Sadly, sorting by new yielded a less than decent result: there have been only 50 or so posts here in the last week – far, far below what I’d expect.

Since there are so few posts here that are recent, I’m probably going to have to suggest that if you visit this subreddit, it’s done via the ‘sort by all-time rating’ feature. Click here if you want to see what I’m looking at right now – it’s the alleged cream of the crop on /r/DatGap! Only 3 of the top 25 posts are from GFYCat, so the rest are probably just flat images. I do prefer clips, they’re just more enjoyable – this was a pretty good one to understand what the niche is all about. I’ll also point out that /r/DatGap has a decent amount of original content, which is basically when girls upload themselves to the subreddit for you to jerk off over. People on Reddit love this whole OC thing, so those posts typically make it to the top of the community. Overall, I’d say that the Dat Gap content experience is a good one: all links seemed to be related to the niche they’re focused on.

My /r/DatGap conclusion

Dat Gap on Reddit is an okay subreddit in terms of its content and theme – it just gets let down majorly owning to the fact that this was something of a new niche when it first started and the desire for it has since died down. I’m not sure if it’s because slim thick Instagram sluts started to rule the world or what, but /r/DatGap has serious issues with the rate of new posts. I’d only come here once or twice a year for the top-rated posts: that’s probably all it’s good for.
