Visiting Doujins – the Mr. Porn Geek review

A little pornographic history lesson for the folks reading out there right now: Doujins – the website that we’re going to be reading about here today – was originally accessible via the domain name Doujin-Moe.us. They’ve since updated to a more attractive domain name of Doujins.com, which I think is a hell of a lot easier to remember and type into your browser. Anyway, the focus of Doujins is on a specific type of Japanese artwork and I’m keen to jump into the review here for a full look at what’s on offer if you decide to make this your first port of call for anime porn. Check my text down below for a full, professional, expert opinion on Doujins – Mr. Porn Geek is about to review the hell out of this place.

Kicking off on Doujins’ homepage

Anyone who drops by Mr. Porn Geek’s reviews on a regular basis will tell you that when it comes to checking places out, one of the first things I do is peep the homepage. After you visit Doujins’, you’ll be given a popup box that suggests you log in or register with the site: this isn’t a requirement and you can hit the ‘skip for now’ button if you don’t want to hand over your email just yet. The first content area that appears is a slider-style preview of material that the website has to offer and just below that, you’ve got the latest releases added to the archive.

Update frequency here is a little dicey – I noticed that in the last 24 hours there have been 20 uploads, but before then, there were 2 days of radio silence. Doujins.com is a bit patchy with the doujinshi, but they do tend to post at least 4 days a week – can’t complain too much about that if you ask me. Anyway, aside from the poll on the right-hand side of the page that asks you some silly question, that’s all there is to talk about Doujins’ homepage from the header down. Thankfully, there’s a lot going on in the navigation bar, so I’m going to devote my next bit of the review to that!

Exploring the internal links at Doujins

While most of the links in the header will take you to internal locations, the second to last one for ‘live cams’ is just a third-party advertisement that you might want to avoid clicking. Some of the links here are pretty damn important, whereas others are less than useful. In terms of accessibility, I’d say that the tags area of the site is probably the best to mention first. You can access the tags at Doujins here and as you might have guessed, they’re basically fetishes for you to find content that’s in your niche of choice. These include things like bondage, BBW, femdom, schoolgirl and tentacles (what hentai website would be complete without tentacle porn!?). Alongside each of the categories, you’ve also got a content count too – plenty of them here have hundreds, if not thousands of attached sets. Who doesn’t love getting access to bulk batches of hentai?

One thing I want to touch on before exploring anything any further is that Doujins.com has a section on their website for Lolicon. In many countries, Lolicon is illegal – particularly in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. Readers from the United States of America are protected by the first amendment, but plenty of other countries have restrictions on simulated material of people who appear to be under the age of 18. Mr. Porn Geek’s advice: use a proxy or don’t visit in the first place. You have been warned!

Other useful sections of Doujins

Alongside the tags, Doujins also manages content based on other tagging meta metrics. The two you’re most likely to utilize are the pages for series and artists. In the series area, you’ll find names of multi-entry publications such as Mizuryu Kei, Asanagi, Sugar Milk and Chin to name but a few. I actually went ahead and counted up the total number of series they’ve got here on Doujins – it’s exactly 1,732 at the time of writing this review. Note that these galleries can also be sorted based rating, popularity and most recently updated. What’s weird is that you can’t actually get Doujins to show you series based on gallery counts – there’s no way to see which one has the highest amount of content associated with it.

A small talk on Doujinshi

For those that don’t know, Doujinshi is hentai that is typically drawn and produced by people who are not professional artists. They do it because they love creating porn and in lots of cases, doujinshi features people from popular series of anime and manga. This isn’t always the case and there have been organic examples of doujinshi publications getting their own fans based purely on the characters contained therein, but it’s a little less common than the parody side of the industry. Plenty of the galleries here are translated into English, so if you’re not able to read Japanese – have no fear.

When you do pick a doujinshi to read, this place will give you the option to either download it in a convenient ZIP file (account required, sadly) or flick through the pages using their reader. Doujins.com allows you to use your left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate and even has a timed slideshow feature if you’re lazy or just want to use both of your hands to jerk off that huge cock of yours.

Mr. Porn Geek’s final thoughts on Doujins

It actually seemed possible for Mr. Porn Geek to write up another thousand or so words on Doujins – this place has a lot going for it and I’m something of an expert when it comes to hentai these days. Still, I don’t want to bore my loyal readers with a novel about one site offering anime porn, so I figured it’d probably be a good idea to stop things there. As always gang, thanks for dropping by and taking my advice whenever I recommend a new hentai haven for you to check out. The bottom line at Doujins is that the website rocks and while signing up for a free account is a bit of a pain, the overall experience here is one I can fully get behind.
